13U Head Coach
Joe’s playing career started in Independence, MO. where he attended Truman High School. He then attended Rockhurst University in Kansas City, MO. where he was a 4-year starting pitcher. Joe has coached for the McKinney Marshals and helped the Richardson Baseball high school with their off-season program. He has also worked with the Marshals as far back as 2008. Joe consults to help teams organize and run more efficient practices. He has instructed athletes ranging in age from 8- 18 with fielding, hitting, and pitching since 2005 in the Dallas metro area. Joe has previously coached players in Division I and Division II ranks attending Dallas Baptist University, University of Texas – Arlington, and Ouachita Baptist University.
Torey grew up in Texarkana, Texas playing baseball. After a successful high school career that included a New Comer of The Year Award and multiple All-District Honors, Torey decided to apply the lessons that he learned from the game to the business world. Torey is an entrepreneur and veteran sales and marketing leader with a passion for sustainability and environmental issues. In the fall of 2013, Torey teamed up with Coach Joe Griffin to co-found The Green Sox Baseball Organization with the idea of teaching players 8 through 18 how to be excellent baseball players and good stewards of the environment.
12U Athletic Director, Head Coach
Desmond played in high school, junior college and Division 1 baseball in California. He pitched and caught in Junior College and was recruited by San Jose State to catch. He played there for two years in the Big West Conference. Desmond has been coaching youth baseball for the past two years and enjoys it.
12U Assistant Head Coach
Matt has been playing baseball since he was 4 years old. He played at Coppell High School, with one of our other Coaches – Tyler Cannon. As a student he covered the Texas State baseball team for the school newspaper, University Star – he wrote recaps, features, previews and interviewed players and coaches regularly. He received Bachelor’s Arts Degree in December 2015 and last played baseball in the Central Texas Baseball League in Austin during the summer season in 2018 with the Colt 45’s.
Born and raised in Texas, Jeremy has played baseball year round since the age of 4. He has dabbled in many positions, but has the most experience with Outfield and Pitching. Jeremy attended Little Elm High School where he played on their Varsity team for all four years. After High School Jeremy turned down numerous offers to play in college in order to focus on his education in Oncology. At a young age, he developed a passion and understanding for the game that has only grown stronger with age. Even when he seized playing, baseball remained a major aspect of his life. Jeremy looks forward to being able to spread his knowledge and experience with those who share his passion for the game.
